На опытном КЗКТ, ставили 2 камаз 740.10 по 260лс.. Тогда уже был ЯМЗ 750 мощность в 650лс. Просто это уникальный трансмиссия от неё не сразу отказаться

I would love to see this thing travel through the winter it wouldn’t make it out of the parking lot. Secondly, it does say that it can change the ride height, but there are a good majority of the streets and roads that it will have to travel on that haven’t been touched since the 90s by road crews so from a practicality standpoint, which is the purpose of all 18 wheelers epic fail

They just were nit thinking straight. The technology was there at that time too get the power he needed with out creating a monster llike this.

Leyland Trucks are still very much alive. Paccar own the company, but it's trucks are branded DAF who did go under.

As some kind of portable generator for very remote projects, mining, oil exploration, not a bad idea, but it looks so top heavy it wouldn't have had much cross country ability, toppling over on rugged, uneven ground I'd imagine. Great video, little known subject, thank you. 👍.

Out of all of the possible reasons for developing this "project", Rubles disappearing into someone's pocket is the most feasible. Strange that everything failed immediately and all of the records are missing (as well as the engineers).

As was alluded to in this video, this could have been intended as a mobile power plant, perhaps in newly developing settlements in the far north and eastern regions of Russia before full infrastructure was constructed. Alternatively, it could be used at remote locations where oil and gas exploration or other construction projects were being undertaken.

You keep saying "locomotive on wheels" like locomotives don't already have wheels... Maybe if you said Tyres would be more correct in explaining it's uniqueness.

I think it would be feasible if it used electric motors instead. Of hydrologic ones, especially with advances in technologies. A possible use could be in areas where road trains are already in use like Australia. Or remote areas like Alaska, and the ice roads in winter. I stopped watching when you showed monster trucks driving over cars. I have seen such demonstrations on TV before and I have yet to figure out the rationale. What exactly is the point of driving a truck over a bunch of cars? Are there actually people out there who find this entertaining? I find it to be one of the stupidest and most pointless events I have ever seen. And is that the only reason monster trucks are made - just to drive over a bunch of cars for "entertainment"? Moreover those monster trucks look absolutely ridiculous with their greatly oversized tires. The only reason I started to watch this is because judging by the thumbnail I thought the video would be about heavy duty tow trucks and I have been impressed by the power of these trucks as seen in recovery videos on RUclips. But as soon as I saw a monster truck driving over cars I stopped watching.

Time to revisit this concept with the prevalence of screens and electronics. Drive-Assist computers can adjust for the understeer and control issues. The projected savings could still be realized with those additions.
